Falter 2011
Concept in cooperation with Benjamin Leibiger
The washing machine 'Falter' is part of a compatible appliance series, consisting of stackable cubes of 50 cm³. Intended for young people size, look and handling are customized to their washing and living habits.
Wrapped in a thick textile the object gets a new livable look. Further, it hides all technical elements, especially the plugs at the back, allowing to place it anywhere in the room. Moreover, its soft touch changes the contact between user and machine. Effects give a feedback and make 'Falter' seem animated. Thus it is more than just a technical device. The control is basic and simple, but can be extendet with smartphones and tablet computers.
