Shadow Play Sundial 2011
The concept deals with the perspective of patients that stay in the hospital for a longer time and shall give their room a more convenient atmosphere.
These objects bring life and the outside world into the room while casting abstract shadows, which turn into concrete pictures at a certain angle of the sun. The abstract projections trigger the fantasy to escape in another world, thus create a private moment.
The concrete pictures tell a story: applied at particular spots, they appear at certain day times, which results in a poetic form of a sundial. In this subtle way the patient gets back the feeling of time, which he frequently loses during a long stay.
